Listed below is the 4-H  and FFA schedule for the 2009 Becker County Fair.   The dates for this year's Fair are July 29th through August 1st, 2009.

Thursday, July 16 (5:00 pm)

  • 4-H Clothing construction & Fashion revue judging (Emmanuel Conference Center) 
  • Judging includes constructed and purchased garments and all other clothing and textile projects.

Tuesday, July 21 (5:00 pm)

  • 4-H Demonstrations (Project & Youth in Action) & Food Revue
  • Emmanuel Conference Center

Thursday, July 23

  • 5:00 p.m.             4-H Cat & Pet Show (St. Mary's Nursing Home)

Saturday, July 25

8:00 a.m.             4-H Dog Show (Lucky Dog)

Monday, July 27

  • 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. 4-H Building, Food Stand & Barn preparation
  • 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. 4-H Club Booth Set-up (4-H Exhibit Building)

Tuesday, July 28

  • 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 4-H Building, Food Stand & Barn preparation
  • 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 4-H Club Booth Set-up (4-H Exhibit Building)
  • 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  4-H & FFA Poultry entries in place (Livestock and Poultry buildings).  Rabbits may come as well.                    

Wednesday, July 29

  • 9:00 a.m..            4-H & FFA Poultry Show, Amanda Foltz Arena
  • 12:30 p.m.          4-H Junior Fair Superintendent Assistant Meeting (4-H Foodstand)
  • 1:00-6:00 p.m.    4-H Exhibit Entry and Conference Judging in 4-H Building
  • 1:00 p.m.            4-H & FFA Livestock Verification for all breeding and market animals (Livestock barn)

Thursday, July 30

** NOTE**  Shows begin at 8:30 a.m., starting times for the swine, beef and dairy shows are estimates.There will not be a break between shows so exhibitors and families should be prepared and ready to enter the show ring when called.  All shows and the auction are held in the Amanda Foltz Arena.

  • 8:30 a.m.          4-H & FFA Sheep Show, Lamb Lead & Market Goat Show (Foltz Arena)
  • 10:30 a.m.        4-H & FFA Swine Show (Amanda Foltz Arena)
  • 1:00 p.m.          4-H & FFA Beef Show (Amanda Foltz Arena)

Friday, July 31

  • 8:00 a.m.         4-H Horse Show (Horse Arena)
  • 8:30 a.m.         4-H, FFA & Open Class Dairy Goat Show (Amanda Foltz Arena)
  • 9:00 a.m.       4-H, FFA & Open Class Dairy Show (Amanda Foltz Arena)
  • 12 noon          4-H Rabbit Judging (Amanda Foltz Arena)

Saturday, August 1

  • 7:30-8:30 a.m.    4-H & FFA Market Auction Bidders Breakfast (4-H Kitchen & Dining Hall)
  • 8:30 a.m.           4-H & FFA Round Robin Showmanship Contest (Amanda Foltz Arena)
  • 9:00 a.m.           4-H & FFA Livestock Market Auction
  • 12:30 p.m.         4-H Fashion Revue held under the Big Tent
  • 1:00 p.m.           4-H Horse Fun Show begins, Arena   
  • 4:00 p.m.           State Fair Meeting & Registration-Regular Encampment (4-H exhibit building)
  • 5:00 p.m.           State Fair Meeting & Registration-Livestock Encampment (4-H exhibit building)
  • 6:00 p.m.           State Dog & Horse Show Mandatory Meeting & Registration.  (4-H exhibit building)
  • 10 pm - 12 a.m    4-H Dance for 6th grade and up (Amanda Foltz Arena)
  • 12 midnight       Exhibit & Livestock Check-Out

Sunday, August 2

  • Early a.m.          Livestock check-out (All livestock must be out of the barns by 10 a.m.)
  • 7:30 a.m.           Exhibit check out (All exhibits removed from 4-H building by 11 a.m.)
